Spotlight Client: Downtown Taunton Foundation, Taunton, MA
Downtown Taunton Foundation was established in 2011 to promote downtown Taunton's social, cultural, and economic revitalization. They engage in projects and programs promoting the arts, strengthening small businesses, eliminating blight, creating affordable housing, and improving the downtown Taunton neighborhood's overall quality of life. The website is a resource for the residential and business community to access information about downtown Taunton's events, businesses, and community development.
The previous website had broken areas, loaded extremely slowly, and staff could not make changes. Downtown Taunton Foundation, DTF, hired Web Design by Robin to build a new website that would create a solid platform for both those utilizing the website for information and the staff members in charge of maintaining content.
How Our Digital Marketing Services Will Help Them Thrive
During our initial consultation, we learned the rich history of Downtown Taunton and how the three organizations, the Business Improvement District, Downtown Taunton Foundation, and Trescott Street Gallery, work together to provide services to the residents and businesses. This insight was vital in determining how to organize the website intuitively and easily. As often happens with large websites that have been around a long time, content gets added haphazardly. We stripped it down to the essentials and reworked the sitemap.
The site is being updated daily by the staff and they love how easy it is to manage. The businesses and the community now have a solid resource that meets the goals they had set out to accomplish. It's a beautiful website that serves a purpose.
Before and After
We enjoyed working with the foundation and turning their website into a resource for all to utilize and enjoy. Downtown Taunton is a historic place with a rich history, but it is also a thriving business and family community of the modern day. The new website truly represents that.

Custom Website Design for The District Center for the Arts
- Strategic Website Consultation
- Custom Responsive Website Design
- Personalized Instructions for Updating Website Content
- Maintenance Plan providing Monitoring, Backups, and Security
Spotlight Client: The District - Concert Venue located in Taunton, Massachusetts
The District Center of the Arts is a historic performing Arts Center located in the former Taunton District Court Building, initially built in 1826. It was created to bring a dynamic performing Arts Center to the historic Downtown Taunton Green and, in doing, restore and breathe life back into one of Bristol County's most iconic Buildings. The District is an elegant high, energy room where you can get your dance on. Those that stand in the way of others enjoying themselves will be asked to leave. It's a special place - only a few years old now - with plans to be here for the long run.
How Our Digital Marketing Services Will Help Them Thrive
The District opened up a year before Covid making the last few years a real challenge. Many concerts were held outdoors. They have been creative in bringing in audiences and remaining open. It hasn't been easy.
When the City of Taunton's Office of Economic & Community Development offered a grant to redesign its website, The District was eager to apply. OECD hired Web Design by Robin to work on this vital project to both revitalize the businesses of Downtown Taunton and carry this historic venue through hard times, aiding in its long-term success.
Before and After
We had fun working with The District staff incorporating their personalities and the 80s tribute band style in the website design. Additionally, the history of the building and art & culture of the community was centric. The final design was bold, loud, and traditional!
Functionally the website's primary purpose is to showcase upcoming concerts and ticket sales. We reformatted the concert schedule so that it was more integrated into the website's overall look & feel, while before, it felt like an afterthought. We also made adding new events easy, reducing their daily workload.
Next, we evaluated all the other great things The District has to offer and constructed a sitemap around them. The District is an Art Gallery in a historical building. They host events from meetings to weddings and connect to the community by displaying art from local artists. They have devoted volunteers that help in many ways, from stuffing mailers to working concerts. The District is genuinely community centered. The new website portrays this community-centered cool vibe that makes you want to hang out there every weekend.

Custom Website Design for Flex Fitness of Plainfield, CT
- Strategic Website Consultation
- Custom Responsive Website Design
- Personalized Instructions for Updating Website Content
- Maintenance Plan providing Monitoring, Backups, and Security
Spotlight Client: Flex Fitness Gym and Flex with Style Salon Plainfield, CT
Flex Fitness is the longest-running gym in eastern Connecticut, founded over 30 years ago. It is a small-town gym with a big city heart! The gym was recently purchased by Sheila & Mike Fowler, a local family and former members of the Flex Fitness family. Wanting to keep the gym's legacy alive and continue the traditions to remain family-owned and operated, Mike and Sheila now carry the torch along with the mascot Benny the Bulldog. Both are well-versed and knowledgeable; you will not be disappointed with their upbeat attitudes, continuous motivation, and genuine support to help you be your best. The gym never had a website, only a Facebook page. Mike hired the Web Design by Robin team shortly after purchasing the gym, and we were excited to launch the website two short months later.
How Our Digital Marketing Services Will Help Them Thrive
As new owners of a thriving business, it is essential to keep the momentum rolling. While Flex Fitness is well established, which is a good thing, it was founded before internet marketing and having a website was common practice. They understand they need a website to compete with other gyms and to make it easy for potential members to find them and join. A strong website presence online can get the exposure they need to keep the gym profitable.
The new website illustrates the long history of success stories. It also demonstrates a commitment from Mike & Sheila that they are dedicated to continuing the Flex Fitness tradition and bringing in some unique ideas. Mike is bursting with ideas. "This is the best job I've ever had," Mike said when he talked about Flex.
The Flex Fitness website is cool with purple and black coloring and the familiar barbell logo. We used an energized neon green to accent favorite mantras. We wrote beautiful content from interviewing Mike, and it's funny; site visitors will enjoy browsing the Flex Fun Facts and seeing their new mascot Benny the Bulldog.
Most importantly, the new website shows all Flex Fitness offers, including a sister business, Flex with Style salon and spa. You can easily find the location, hours, programs, and membership opportunities on the website, along with a link to join! We were very excited to work with these new owners and are thrilled to work with them for years to come.

Custom Website Design for Obbagy Consulting

- Custom Responsive Website Design

- Maintenance Plan providing Monitoring, Backups, and Security
Spotlight Client: Obbagy Consulting
Obbagy Consulting, established in 2015, is a registered and certified women-owned business enterprise that serves clients in the greater Boston area and throughout the United States. With over 25 years of experience, owner Jane Obbagy assists organizations in enhancing ESG performance. She has completed over 1000 projects and is the recipient of multiple awards for providing outstanding service to clients in undertaking high visibility and complex project work.
How Our Digital Marketing Services Will Help Them Thrive
Website Design
Jane Obbagy of Obbagy Consulting is a subject matter expert in a highly specialized and high-profile field. Our job began with understanding the industries and clients she works with and the services she provides so that we could create a website that is both intuitive and thought-provoking.
ESG stands for Environmental, Social and Governance, and refers to the three key factors when measuring the sustainability and ethical impact in a business or industry. We divided the services into two categories; ESG Scan and Operationalizing ESG. Each was represented on the website beautifully using words, icons, and imagery. We used calls to action throughout the website to guide potential clients to take action.
It is not enough to explain why ESG is vital for companies and investors; we also need to convince them that the person to work with is Jane Obbagy. We did this by telling her story, providing an impressive list of case studies and publications, and featuring her certifications and credentials.
We enjoyed working with Jane on this website design project. Her new website will serve her well as she can add recent case studies and market to new clients.
Logo Design
The logomark for Obbagy Consulting is comprised of three leaflike shapes that are exactly the same except for their color and orientation. Together they form a circle, and become part of a whole. Removing one piece would affect the integrity of the logo – they are all of equal importance, just as with ESG it is important for a company to be equally cognizant of Environmental, Social, and Governance factors in their business. Typography studies helped Jane to choose a font that fit the feel that she wanted for her logo and company. It was then customized to match the appearance of the symbol by altering the “B” and “A” letterforms and making the logo mark and font the same line weight. Color sketches focused on earth tones, with the final selection being this muted green in various tints for the logo. The result is a cohesive, professional and memorable logo design for Obbagy Consulting.

Custom Website Design for Autobody News
- Strategic Website Consultation
- Custom Responsive Website Design
- News Search Capability
- Keyword Research and onsite SEO implementation
- Personalized Instructions for Updating Website Content
- Maintenance Plan providing Monitoring, Backups, and Security
Spotlight Client: Autobody News
Autobody News is an online national news outlet for the autobody collision industry. They share autobody news on both the national and regional levels. Autobody News columnists create original content as well. Body shops can view the latest collision repair news on the website, in a regional monthly magazine, in weekly email newsletters, in bi-annual publications, as well as on social media. They are regarded as a leader in their industry.
How Our Web Design Will Help Them Thrive
The former Autobody News site was dated and not mobile-friendly. While that was the main reason Autobody News decided to redesign the website, it quickly became clear that the user experience could be improved tremendously. Web Design by Robin started the process by evaluating the overall site as it was. A lot was going on and our team needed to understand how the site was used so that we could make recommendations to improve it. We began by reorganizing the site menu to give the site visitor improved navigation. From there, we added frequently looked for actions in areas that were easy to find. If a website visitor can find what they are looking for easily and quickly, the happier they will be, resulting in higher traffic on the site.
Before and After
The fun part came next – design. Rather than long lists of news articles, we created an interesting layout with colors, icons and news images. Colors were assigned to each region. Map icons were used to show which states were represented in each region. The magazines associated with each region followed the same color scheme. Consistency was carried throughout to guide the site visitor from page to page and news article to news article. We added related articles to give the site some flow. Similar layouts were used from page to page. We wanted to create a feeling of ease. It feels good to expect where something should be and then find it there. Good design can do this!

So what happens behind the scene on the back-end? That is where the day-to-day work is done. Many news articles are posted daily at Autobody News and a new set of instructions was created to produce beautiful news article pages. These news articles are SEO friendly, selectable to be featured, listed in multiple categories, and easily searched using the search bar. Images, videos, podcasts and magazine readers are easily added. It’s all native to the website now, which decreases bounce rates. What happens on the back-end is just as important as what the site visitors see and experience on the front end. At Web Design by Robin we strive to create an excellent experience for both our business owners and their customers.
